Dr Finau Tutone +
Malo ‘e lelei ko hoku hingoa ko Finau Tutone. Ko ‘eku ha’u mei Felemea/Lotofoa, Ha’apai, Mailetaha, Tongatapu.
I am a New Zealand born Tongan. Most of my childhood was spent in Tonga where I was able to learn my Tongan language and culture. I returned to Auckland and spent the rest of my school years at Mt Roskill Grammar, then attended The University of Auckland gaining my MBCHB.
Most of my experience as a junior doctor has been at Middlemore hospital. I have also gained experience in Paediatrics and Emergency Medicine at Starship and Waitakere Hospital.
The combination of my upbringing, life experiences, hard work and determination, have led me to my current position. I am eager to be a part of a team providing healthcare services to our community.
Our Tongan community faces many challenges in adopting a way of life in a western world. These challenges manifest in a breakdown of culture and relationships that have adverse effects on our health and wellbeing. I am passionate about guiding our people through these challenges and empowering each patient I interact with to a healthier lifestyle here at the Tongan Health Society Inc.
