Protect the Vulnerable

Remember, if you are sick stay away from anyone who could get very sick from winter illnesses, including babies, pregnant people, those over 65, and people with a weak immune system.

When to Mask - Wear a mask around others if they have symptoms or start to feel unwell.

Covid-19 Testing - Take a RAT test, and if you test positive for COVID-19, isolate for at least 5 days.

Sanitation - Regularly wash your hands with soap and water or use an alcohol-based sanitiser.

Sick – Stay Home - Stay home and rest if you’re sick.

Air Your Home - Open your windows regularly at home to allow fresh air to circulate inside your home.

Planning - Talk to your doctor at Langimālie Health Clinic to come up with a plan if you become unwell.

Medicines - Make sure you have good stocks of your regular prescription medicines and any cold and flu medicines that will help you feel better if you get sick.

Facemask - Wear a face mask when visiting healthcare services and crowded public transport spaces.

Antivirals - Antiviral medicines are available if you are aged 65 or over, and/or meet the criteria.

If you get sick and need healthcare advice, there are a range of options available:

Health New Zealand - Info.health.nz has a range of advice on managing illnesses at home.
