Measles is a big threat to our children and communities

It’s a highly contagious disease and can be life-threatening, leading to pneumonia, brain infection and sometimes death.

However, it is preventable with the MMR vaccination, which will also protect children against Mumps and Rubella.

Immunisation is our best defence against outbreaks of Measles, Mumps and Rubella.

Measles, Mumps and Rubella can severely affect their quality of life and in some cases these diseases can be deadly.

As a community, we’ve faced health challenges before and know we can overcome them together. 

The MMR vaccination it’s free for everyone aged 18 years and under. It doesn’t matter what your visa or citizenship status is. New Zealand visitors are also eligible.

The MMR vaccine is free for people over 18 years old if you’re a resident or eligible for free healthcare in New Zealand.
