What you need to know about COVID-19

THE SYMPTOMS

COVID-19 is a virus that affects lungs, airways and other organs. Symptoms can include a fever, headache, sore throat and dry cough. There can also be shortness of breath, body aches, and a loss of sense of smell or taste.

HOW DO YOU CATCH COVID-19?

The virus spreads easily between people within about two metres of each other. The virus makes contact when a nearby infected person sends droplets into the air by coughing, sneezing, or talking.

CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

They don’t usually have any symptoms or only mild respiratory symptoms, similar to a cold.

But we must always be vigilant to protect our children as they can be affected by many other illnesses.
